Fitter Armaments are the Army’s equivalent of a fitter and turner. You will maintain a diverse range of weapon systems, small engines and miscellaneous equipment and work on everything from 9mm pistols, sniper rifles to 0.50 Calibre Machine Guns, to artillery guns and 120mm tank armaments. Fitter Armament offers you the opportunity to obtain a highly sought after trade as well as the experiences of being an Army soldier.

As an Army Metalsmith, you will specialise in the joining, deforming and treating of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, polymers and ceramics. You’ll also work with metals in the form of castings, sheets, bars and formed sections, heat treatment, sheet cutting, power presses, and welding with gas, electric arc and oxyacetylene equipment.

Plumbers play a critical role in Army construction teams and are responsible for performing advanced drainage, sanitary, water supply, roof plumbing, and intermediate gas and mechanical services. Not only will you be paid while training, you'll also be given the opportunity to use your skills all over Australia as well as internationally while on operations.
