Graduate
Throughout your military career you will undertake formal courses of both a military and technical nature in order to be eligible for promotion and broaden your technical competence. These may include:
  • Masters of Project Management (Army Technical Staff Officers Course - ATSOC) conducted at the Australian Defence Force Academy ADFA in Canberra. Positions for a senior Captain/Major each year.
  • Masters of Science in Military Vehicle Technology at Royal Military College Schrivenham UK. Positions for two Captains/Majors each year.

The majority of jobs in the ADF are available as Full Time positions, many are also available as Part Time or Reserve positions. A select number of jobs are available through the Gap Year program.

Aviation Corps Officer (GSO Pilot)

You’ll fly within Australia and possibly overseas. Your initial flying will be with helicopter units, but you may convert to fixed wing, or be selected to train as a Qualified Flying Instructor. To apply for this role you will need to apply as a General Service Officer, and while due consideration is given, you aren't guaranteed of being allocated to the Corps of your choice.
