Royal Australian Engineers (RAE) Regimental Officers Basic Course: 26 Weeks

Location of Course: School of Military Engineering, Moorebank, Sydney NSW.

After graduation from the Regimental Officers Basic Course, Civil Engineers can expect to be posted to a regimental unit to gain leadership/management experience as well as to practice their technical and field engineering expertise.

Technically qualified officers have an excellent chance of at least one overseas posting either for further training, on exchange, or on a Defence Co-operation Programme project in the South West Pacific.

Aviation Corps Officer (GSO Pilot)

You’ll fly within Australia and possibly overseas. Your initial flying will be with helicopter units, but you may convert to fixed wing, or be selected to train as a Qualified Flying Instructor. To apply for this role you will need to apply as a General Service Officer, and while due consideration is given, you aren't guaranteed of being allocated to the Corps of your choice.
